The SEED tool is an economic development measurement tool designed by the marketumbrella.org with help from pollster Ed Renwick and web developers Outpost Design. The purpose of the tool is to provide public markets (especially open-air farmers markets) with a simple but sound methodology for measuring their economic impact upon vendors, nearby businesses and the region. SEED is property of marketumbrella.org. Use of the tool is free. You/your organization are invited to set up your own account (accessible only via password for you to update). All that we ask for is the right to share the economic impact numbers with the wider community (via the SEED site) as a means to promote public markets as effective mechanisms for economic development.
